This season of the series is supposed to have nineteen episodes, but till date only twelve episodes have been aired. The fifth season started from where the fourth season had ended. In the first episode of the season we find the team investigating the death of a woman named Lauren Salinas, whose death is linked to the bank robbery. After the investigations the team comes to know that Lauren was a friend of Flack’s sister, Samantha. Though Mac managed to escape from the hands of the robber, but there are others who are being killed. In order to stop the killings the team must quickly find the robber before he is able to get away with many more killings. In the next episode of the series, after a number of deaths start taking place in the New York City Library.
